Blossom Trail Players Announces Second Season and Open Auditions

Sanger, CA—Blossom Trail Players are proud to announce their selection for their 2016 June production, Meredith Willson's The Music Man. Set in a small Iowa town in 1912, this Tony Award-winning musical was made into an Academy Award-winning movie and has been popular with audiences for over 50 years.

With performances at the end of June, auditions for Meredith Willson's The Music Man are from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12th and 13th with callbacks from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on the 14th. All are at the Sanger High School Multi-Purpose Room. We encourage actors of all ages over 8 and any aspiring crew members to attend. The cast for this show is very large, so there are roles for a variety of performers from a young boy who has difficulty with S’s to a barbershop quartet to the mayor and his, in today’s terms, high maintenance wife. An accompanist is provided so please bring your own sheet music. No CDs, smartphones, or other electronic devices will be allowed for auditions. Set crew, lighting crew, sound crew and child wranglers are also needed. Plan to attend and be part of the Sanger Theatre experience.

ABOUT THE BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS: BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS is a brand new community theatre group in Sanger, California. Founded by theatre enthusiasts, professionals and educators through the support of Sanger Unified School District, the BTP’s mission is to put on high-quality theatrical productions for the entertainment of the community, to offer an outlet for performers and creatives to apply their talents in a group setting, and to provide training and educational opportunities to those interested in learning more about the theatrical arts.

In 2015, the BTP made their stage debut with a critically-acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof that critics raved is "the start of something wonderful in Sanger!" (Karan Johnson, longtime performer and director) The production was directed by Sanger High School’s theatre arts teacher, Erica Mardirosian, with music direction by Sanger native and music educator Andrew Esquer and choreography by Jefferson Elementary School’s resident theatre choreographer, Jackie Moreno. The production featured over 40 actors, many of whom made their stage debuts in the show, and starred Sanger math and choir educator Daniel Warnecke as Tevye. A live orchestra of over a dozen musicians was on hand to provide the music.
