BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS ANNOUNCES THIRD SEASON SELECTION
Sanger, CA—Blossom Trail Players is excited to announce their selection for their Summer 2017 production, Bye Bye Birdie. A comical send-up of the late 1950s, teenagers from small-town America, and rock & roll, Bye Bye Birdie features some of the catchiest songs ever to grace Broadway stages, and is fun for the whole family! When all-American teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie receives his draft papers, fangirls all over the country are devastated. Albert Peterson, his agent and songwriter, comes up with a plan to get out of the business for good by having Conrad sing one last chart topper and give one lucky girl a final kiss on national television before being sent off. Unfortunately for him, he didn't anticipate a jealous boyfriend, a fame-hungry father, and his own overbearing mother getting in the way of things.
Performances will be held June 22–July 1, 2017 at the Sanger High School MPR. Auditions for Bye Bye Birdie are scheduled for April 4–5, 2017, with callback auditions taking place on April 6. We encourage actors of all ages over 8 to attend. Cast rehearsals are slated to begin May 1, 2017. More information on auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be shared as the dates get closer.
In addition to their summer production, Blossom Trail Players is proud to be working on new educational outreach efforts in conjunction with Sanger Unified School District to expose students to the theatrical arts and offer further educational opportunities in the theatrical arts for those interested in pursuing related fields as career opportunities.

ABOUT THE BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS: BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS is a brand new community theatre group in Sanger, California. Founded by theatre enthusiasts, professionals and educators through the support of Sanger Unified School District, the BTP’s mission is to put on high-quality theatrical productions for the entertainment of the community, to offer an outlet for performers and creatives to apply their talents in a group setting, and to provide training and educational opportunities to those interested in learning more about the theatrical arts.
In 2015, the BTP made their stage debut with a critically-acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof that critics raved is "the start of something wonderful in Sanger!" (Karan Johnson, longtime performer and director) The production was directed by Sanger High School’s theatre arts teacher, Erica Mardirosian, with music direction by Sanger native and music educator Andrew Esquer and choreography by Jefferson Elementary School’s resident theatre choreographer, Jackie Moreno. The production featured over 40 actors, many of whom made their stage debuts in the show, and starred Sanger math and choir educator Daniel Warnecke as Tevye. A live orchestra of over a dozen musicians was on hand to provide the music.
