Blossom Trail Players Announces New Positions on Board of Directors

Sanger, California—In preparation for our 2016 season and beyond, Blossom Trail Players is restructuring its board of directors and is seeking qualified applicants to take new positions in charge of History, Fundraising, and Advertising and Public Relations.

The board member in charge of History will be responsible for documenting the activities of the BTP, accumulating and combining all materials concerning the organization including newspaper articles, reviews, photography, videography, and showbills from each production (rehearsals, performances, behind-the-scenes, educational/outreach events, etc.).

The board member in charge of Fundraising will be tasked with developing and maintaining fundraising avenues to maintain a source of income for the organization outside of ticket sales, such as merchandise sales, membership drives, ad sales and sponsorship procurement, explicit fundraising events, etc.

The board member in charge of Advertising and Public Relations will be tasked with overseeing the development and implementation of all marketing and advertising materials (such as press releases, posters, showbills, social media posts, etc.) and will serve as the primary contact for the media.

Our ideal candidate for each of the aforementioned board positions will have reasonable experience in related fields or similar positions with other organizations, and will be actively involved, motivated, and hungry to help the development of theatre in bloom™.

At present, all staff positions with the BTP are currently 100% volunteer. Due to our affiliation with Sanger Unified School District, a background check will be required before applicants can participate with the organization.

To apply for these non-executive board positions, candidates must visit and fill out the Board Member Application by January 4, 2016 at 11:59 pm—early submissions are appreciated and encouraged. The BTP Board of Directors will make an initial review of all applications and follow up with selected applicants for further consideration, at which time criteria for final selections will be disclosed to applicants.

BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS is a brand new community theatre group in Sanger, California. Founded by theatre enthusiasts, professionals and educators through the support of Sanger Unified School District, the BTP’s mission is to put on high-quality theatrical productions for the entertainment of the community, to offer an outlet for performers and creatives to apply their talents in a group setting, and to provide training and educational opportunities to those interested in learning more about the theatrical arts.

In 2015, the BTP made their stage debut with a critically-acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof that critics raved is "the start of something wonderful in Sanger!" (Karan Johnson, longtime performer and director) The production was directed by Sanger High School’s theatre arts teacher, Erica Mardirosian, with music direction by Sanger native and music educator Andrew Esquer and choreography by Jefferson Elementary School’s resident theatre choreographer, Jackie Moreno. The production featured over 40 actors, many of whom made their stage debuts in the show, and starred Sanger math and choir educator Daniel Warnecke as Tevye. A live orchestra of over a dozen musicians was on hand to provide the music.
