BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS ANNOUNCES OPEN CALL FOR DIRECTORS
Area Theatre Group Seeks Candidates for Second Year Production and Beyond
Sanger, California—December 14, 2015—In preparation for our 2016 season, the Blossom Trail Players are seeking creative, talented, and experienced musical theatre directors whom are interested in cultivating the next level of theatre in bloom™. In addition to the aforementioned qualities, ideal candidates are organized, have a clear theatrical vision, and are capable of educating performers and participants from ages 9–90 in all requisite facets of the theatrical arts. BTP is specifically looking for directors with specific shows in mind to be produced, but is also accepting candidates to enter our directors pool for future productions. Ideal show suggestions will be family-friendly, featuring a large cast, accessible to all ages as both performers and audience, and will serve as an excellent gateway to introduce Sanger to the community theatre experience.
To apply, candidates must visit blossomtrailplayers.com/apply and fill out the Director Application by January 4, 2016 at 11:59 pm—early submissions are appreciated and encouraged. The BTP Board of Directors will make an initial review of all submissions and follow up with selected applicants for further consideration, at which time criteria for final selections will be disclosed to applicants.
At present, all staff positions with the BTP are currently 100% volunteer. Due to our affiliation with Sanger Unified School District, a background check will be required for anyone over 18 or already graduated from high school before you can participate with the organization.
WHY JOIN THE BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS?
BLOSSOM TRAIL PLAYERS is a brand new community theatre group in Sanger, California. Founded by theatre enthusiasts, professionals and educators through the support of Sanger Unified School District, the BTP’s mission is to put on high-quality theatrical productions for the entertainment of the community, to offer an outlet for performers and creatives to apply their talents in a group setting, and to provide training and educational opportunities to those interested in learning more about the theatrical arts.
In 2015, the BTP made their stage debut with a critically-acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof that critics raved is "the start of something wonderful in Sanger!" (Karan Johnson, longtime performer and director) The production was directed by Sanger High School’s theatre arts teacher, Erica Mardirosian, with music direction by Sanger native and music educator Andrew Esquer, and choreography by Jefferson Elementary School’s resident theatre choreographer, Jackie Moreno. The production featured over 40 actors, many of whom made their stage debuts in the show, and starred Sanger math and choir educator Daniel Warnecke as Tevye. A live orchestra of over a dozen musicians provided the music.
